Sculptor Masters in Epreskert II exhibition timeline design

Teaching sculpture has been provided at the 150-year-old Hungarian Academy of Fine Arts since 1889, for almost 133 years. The training method of the Master School of Sculpture, founded by Alajos Stróbl, is traditionally based on the personal relationship between the master and the student. The exhibition of the Department of Sculpture provides an insight into the process of how this tradition has led to the present day, how the masters and then the masters who became disciples passed down from generation to generation thousands of years of experience in sculpture. The exhibition seeks to showcase the traditional process through a selection of photographs and sculptures. Through the archive images, we can look into centuries-old, almost unchanged studios, we can see the creation of some public sculptures in Budapest, or an intimate moment of the correction. The sculpture material of the exhibition lined up not well known artworks from the past to the present.
