Balázs Káli Winery Wine Label Design

When I think of the Káli Basin, the first thing that comes to mind are the ancient cellars dotting the hills. Robust, or on the contrary, fragile, weathered, with lime-coloured, mottled mustard yellow or mauve plaster, from under which the characteristic stones of the landscape peep out. Wandering on, my thoughts are rather taken up with the feeling of a fairytale landscape, where time passes differently, different lights are cast on the man-made buildings, on the vineyards they still cultivate. Light, colour and this kind of playfulness on a landscape and human scale is what defined my work. My labels for Balázs Káli's wines combine the past and the modern world, infused with a kind of nostalgia, but still staying in the present, to create a distinctive image worthy of this small but all the more exciting winery.
