About the Rhodes

The analog electronic piano of the 70s with pick-ups similar to the guitar’s has a soft, fascinating sound resembling that of the celesta. As Hungarian stages do not necessarily have an acustic or upright piano I came to the idea of taking this portable instrument with us to avoid having to rely on today’s digital piano sound. The Fender Rhodes is a legendary, full-value instrument regularly used in modern jazz. In this take it is amplified by a Böhm-tube amp from the 50s.
